NO-PHOTO RULE PUB IS CLOSED UP AGAIN

A MIDLAND pub with a no-photo policy has shut its doors after the strict rule was broken.

The Abbey, in Darley Abbey, is thought to be one of the oldest pubs in Derbyshire.

A four-year campaign to re-open the unique venue ended last September when the first pint was poured since 2019 as part of the Samuel Smith's Brewery chain, but it now appears the pub has closed again just eight months later.

A notice on the front door read: "Closed!! Due to someone posting pictures of the Abbey on social media.

"Sam Smith has taken the alcohol and closed these premises."

The pub was popular among punters for its raw aesthetic as well as its strict list of rules, including no mobile phones, laptops or e-readers and a zero-tolerance for swearing.
