HUNT FOR COUNTRY PUB HAS CLARKSON CRYING INTO HIS PINT

JEREMY Clarkson has laid bare the crisis in the British pub industry, as venues close at a rate of more than three a day.

Data from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) showed a continuing downturn in pubs, with 303 closing in the first quarter of 2025.

Clarkson, who was filmed looking around the Cotswolds for a pub to buy in the new series of Clarkson's Farm, said the volume of closed pubs was “depressing”

The former Top Gear presenter was filmed viewing a string of premises in the Amazon Prime series as he looked for a suitable pub to run with a food offering and a butcher's shop.

According to CAMRA, 1,062 pubs remained vacant after closing last year, with another 210 converted into retail spaces or homes.
