FROM Scottish Premiership to National League South felt a long way to fall for Jayden Richardson.
But Boreham Wood proved the unusual location for the wing-back to revel in the career bounce he was craving.
Richardson is settling in well at St Mirren, eight games into a second stint in Scotland that he has grabbed with both hands.
There was a time early in England's sixth tier when he wondered if he’d gone too deep into non-league football.
But it proved just the kind of confidence rebuild Richardson needed badly.
Then Stephen Robinson made a big leap possible again by snapping up the 24-year-old for Saints.
The Nottingham Forest academy graduate said: “Having been with big clubs then going to the National League South, it was a big thing for me.
“Mentally, at the start, I was a bit wary. I didn’t know half of the teams who were in the league.
