The Observer produces its own report card for the class of 24/25

With the play-offs deciding the final storylines of the 24/25 SPFL season, the preparations are already underway for what is set to be a busy pre-season at Forthbank.

The Binos fell short of securing their own play-off ambitions after a late surge had put them in position to potentially secure some extra football - and a chance at an immediate return to the third tier.

As it is, Stirling boss Alan Maybury is now casting an eye over his squad to decide who stays and who goes, with fans eager to retain the usual hopes and dreams for the 25/26 campaign.

But before the book is officially closed on the season just gone, the Observer has produced it’s own 'school report card' on areas to praise - and where Albion have to improve if they have loftier ambitions next time around.

The 2024/25 season began in chaotic fashion for the Binos, with manager Alan Maybury arriving through the Forthbank doors in the wake of a bungled managerial search and inherited a ravaged squad with little real experience of senior football.

The Irishman quickly got to work filling out his side, with an impressive performance in the League Cup group stage showing some possible green shoots - especially in the displays of young players from the Binos' development sides given their chance to impress.

A decent opening to the League Two season allayed early fears that Stirling would be facing a brutal campaign and the arrival of key faces such as Josh Kerr and Adam Brown added real experience and quality, with loanees including St Johnstone midfielder Alex Ferguson also showing out.
