His fiancee was alerted to the fatal smash by an SOS message on her mobile phone
YOUNG driver Imaan Hussain was tragically killed after hitting speeds of more than 100mph on an unlit country road.
The 22-year-old ‘car enthusiast’ was travelling down Eccleshall Road, in Stone, when he lost control of his blue Vauxhall Corsa VXR.
An inquest into Imaan’s death heard the dessert shop worker had been on his way home to his address in Yarnfield at around 11pm on March 12. But the thrill-seeker drove at 72mph in a residential area with a speed limit of just 30mph.
He continued travelling down the B5205 - reaching 102mph - before careering off the road upon reaching the turning for the Lakesedge junction towards Norton Bridge. His car struck a grassy verge before obliterating a ‘large tree’ and rolling into a field near Stone Golf Centre.
An off-duty police officer discovered the crash at around 11.15pm, stating that the car was so deformed he ‘could not identify the make or model’ The roof had been caved into the driver-side cavity.
Imaan’s fiancee, Kelsie Preston, recalled the horrific events of the evening. She told the inquest: “After work, he went to the gym with my brother before coming to my house. He arrived at my house with the dog food at around 10.10pm. He was in good spirits. We chatted for a while and he played with the dog. He left at around 11pm.
