Student landed in trouble after police turn up and check phone

A UNIVERSITY student spending £500 a week on cannabis sold the drug to fellow students to fund his own use, a court has heard.

Ivo Mclusky was buying the drug in bulk from a large-scale supplier and then dealing to other students.

A judge at Swansea Crown Court told the 23-year-old he had been consuming an “unbelievable” and “shocking” amount of the drug and told him that whatever his views on the drug were, the reality was it causes harm to users.

Georgia Donoghue, prosecuting, told the court that acting on information about the supply of cannabis in Swansea, officers executed a search warrant at the defendant's home in the Uplands area of the city in September last year.

She said police recovered five cannabis vapes, traces of cannabis, a quantity of self-seal bags, three weighing scales, some £1,370 in cash, and two mobile phones.

Mclusky was asked for the PIN code to the phones but refused to reveal it, and subsequently answered “no comment” to all questions asked in interview.
