Not feeling 'myshelf' as elves arrive

Happily, I'm revising that opinion; it’s amazing what having two young grandchildren does to thaw a Scrooge (pre-conversion) heart!New ‘traditions’ are being adopted at some pace.

For example, as our little Nell celebrated her first birthday on Tuesday, we made an ‘event’ of putting our Christmas decorations up on Wednesday.

That long haul up to the attic gets easier when you have two grandchildren (four and one) in the house.

(By the way, why do some people call their Christmas decorations ‘trimmings’? Answers on an email, please... or send with your Christmas card).

This year's new family tradition has been the adoption of The Elf on the Shelf.

Plainly, I have been living in a cave the last few years as this was a new one on me.
