MP criticised over 'fat bloke in a wetsuit' comment

A SWANSEA MP has been criticised by a charity after branding a rival a "fat bloke in a wetsuit".

Torsten Bell, MP for Swansea West, made the comments directed at Liberal Democrats leader Sir Ed Davey during a 10-minute speech given to a crowd at a Labour conference held in Liverpool.
He said: "What Britain needs to tackle [Nigel] Farage, is a vision. And the vision they need is not a fat bloke in a wetsuit, which is what the Lib Dems have got to offer Britain in the 21st century."
Sir Ed has become known for his publicity stunts such as last year when he jumped into the water in a wetsuit at an Aqua Jungle floating assault course during a visit to Spot-On-Wake in Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire.
