'It's not what I want to see, but two teams could work if the SRC below them was brought up to a higher standard' - Sam

WELSH rugby legend Sam Warburton has set the record straight on his Welsh rugby views and has told the WRU to "supercharge".
Currently, the game in Wales is in limbo, with the future more of a brewing storm than a clear horizon.
The uncertainty has created tension across the country, with each of the four professional clubs anxiously waiting for the Welsh Rugby Union to make their decision. T he WRU executive, led by Dave Reddin, tabled their 'optimal solution' last month, which involved the reduction of the number of professional teams to two, and the formal consultation process is now in its final week.
As well as this, the governing body would also require full control of rugby operations of both teams.
Wales stars Gareth Anscombe, Dillon Lewis and Alex Cuthbert recently discussed the proposal on the Sportin Wales podcast, with Anscombe and Lewis detailing why they think it wouldn't work.
Two-time British and Irish Lions captain Warburton has weighed in with his own suggestions for what the future could look like in Welsh rugby.
The WRU's proposal in August actually echoed a suggestion made by Warburton in his column for The Times back in February, suggesting that the creation of east and west teams could be an option.
He did also mention that the Union should try and stick with four teams, but in that case, in must be a 'two plus two' model where two regions receive more funding.
Speaking on The Big Jim Show with former Scotland international Jim Hamilton, Warburton said that he believes there are a lot of people supportive of going down to two regions, but perhaps aren’t as vocal about it because they don’t want to receive criticism from others.
He said if he had to give one answer to whether he agrees the WRU's proposal, he’d say yes.
“Is it optimal for right now? Yes, in my opinion, I think it is. Is it what I want? No,” began the former Cardiff flanker.
