CHRISTOPHER Mee stole the show as Gorseinon kept up the pressure at the top of division one of the South Wales Cricket Association.

It's all about Mee: Gors bowler keeps up pressure

Gorseinon won by five wickets at home against Tata Steel to stay tucked in just behind leaders Maesteg.

The home side won a crucial toss, decided to field and Mee duly took charge.

His excellent spell of 5-24 from 10 overs did much to reduce Tata to 83 all out in 36 overs.

Kieran Bull - who had earlier taken two of Tata's wickets - then scored a patient 44 not out as Gorseinon won with relative ease.

They are four points behind Maesteg, who won their home game against Bronwydd by 77 runs.

The Llynfi Valley side batted first and reached 203-4 in their 39 overs. Aron Bird scored a rapid 68 - his innings featured eight fours and four sixes — and Morgan Hodges chipped in with a much more sedate 44.

Matthew Bagshaw took 2-39.

Bronwydd were never in contention after slipping from 19-0 to 31-5.

Lee Hicks took 4-17 as the visitors were dismissed for 91.

Skewen lost ground on the top two after suffering a seven-run defeat at home to Briton Ferry Town.

The visitors batted first and posted 167-5.

Sadineni Vivek scored 62 not out and opener Azrin Azmy added 47.

Rain meant Skewen were asked to chase a revised target of 137 from 20 overs, but they fell short on 129-6.

Johan Conrath scored 46.

Llandysul won their third game of the season as they eased to a 78-run success at Baglan.

The Teifi Valley side scored an imposing 277-8 with Ben Edkins scoring a run-a-ball 80 and Tudur Davies a more patient 41.
