WE'RE A TOUGH PILL TO SCHWOLOW

Alexander says Jambos have the mettle for title battle with Celts after he downed Leipzig

HISTORY-MAKING Alexander Schwolow won't be daunted by a title tussle with Celtic having downed big guns RB Leipzig to win a league.

And the record-setting Tynecastle keeper is aiming for a high five against Celtic to keep Derek McInnes' men clear at the top of the Premiership pile.

Schwolow set a magnificent milestone at Rugby Park as he became the first Hearts No.1 to keep clean sheets in each of his first four matches for the club.

Success for the Gorgie high-fliers has set them up perfectly for Sunday's blockbuster crunch against Brendan Rodgers' men.

McInnes admits that'll be the toughest test of the lot so far, but he's got a German star who has faced the biggest guns in a title fight before and come out on top.

In season 2015-16, Schwolow was part of the Freiburg side who held off ambitious Leipzig to secure the second-tier crown as the pair earned promotion to the top flight.

He said: "It was tough. We competed with RB Leipzig who were not even in the Bundesliga at this time. It was a very hard season.

"The season before I won the Bundesliga 3 title with Arminia Bielefeld, too. So I managed to win two leagues in my first two seasons as a professional which was nice"

Following those two wins Schwolow now finds himself back in the midst of growing title chat surrounding his new club.

It’s early days but Hearts are building serious momentum with the rearguard running a tight ship.
