KILMARNOCK assistant Paul Sheerin is "not surprised" manager Derek McInnes has been linked with the Hearts vacancy.

The Killie boss has emerged as the front-runner over the past few days to succeed Neil Critchley in the Tynecastle hotseat.

McInnes, who has previously managed St Johnstone, Bristol City and Aberdeen, did not take his pre-match media conference at Rugby Park yesterday, with his No.2 Sheerin instead holding court with reporters.
