THE parliamentary business minister is in his sixth ministerial role since 2014, although he's never been promoted to a Cabinet job.

After joining the party at 18, Hepburn was active in student politics at Glasgow University. He later worked as an election agent for the Nats, a doorman at the Citizens' Theatre in Glasgow, a data processor at Scottish Power and a research assistant for Alex Neil MSP.

Aged 46, he's married and lives in Cumbernauld with wife Julie, a former SNP candidate. He has represented the local constituency since 2011 (and he was a Central Scotland list MSP for four years before that).
