Most Scots ‘feel safer’ in the UK

THE SNP have been dealt a fresh Scottish independence blow as new polling revealed that most Scots feel safer as part of the United Kingdom.

With the ongoing tensions across Europe due to the war in Ukraine, and Donald Trump's plans to introduce tariffs, many see the world as increasingly uncertain.

John Swinney has insisted repeatedly that breaking up the UK is still his goal despite putting it on the back burner after the General Election thrashing. He has suggested Westminster give the Scottish Secretary the power to call for a referendum if they deem there is enough support for one.

Polling by Survation for pro-UK group Scotland in Union found that most Scots believe that they are more secure and have more influence as part of the UK and want to retain the nuclear deterrent.
