Bye John MacKay after 31yrs

STV has announced that veteran news presenter John MacKay will leave in spring 2026 after 31 years with the station.
The anchorman has decided to hang up his earpiece and mic for the final time in March next year to concentrate on writing and other creative ventures.
He already has six books and a successful film adaption to his name, and is working on a potential TV series from another of his novels.
MacKay joined STV in 1994 as a reporter on the evening news programme, then called Scotland Today, and was promoted to co-anchor
