JIM GOODWIN accepts he has to do better as the face of Dundee United amid a slump of six games without a Premiership win.

The boss must pilot his squad through this mini slump, but also reckons some in his squad need more consistency and will be looking for that to kick in at home to Motherwell on Saturday.

Goodwin (above), who has seen his side slump to eighth place, said: "I'm really happy with the recruitment.

"Some of the players within the squad are not performing to the levels that they're capable of on a consistent basis.

"They're all honest enough to admit that.
