Proposal: Ms Gallacher
AN MSP has proposed a Bill that could see a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for desecrating or damaging a war memorial.
Convictions for vandalism of war memorials in Scotland at present carry penalties including imprisonment for up to 60 days and/or a fine for a first offence.
Scottish Conservative MSP Meghan Gallacher yesterday outlined her proposals for a new law to protect Scotland’s memorials.
