Froome is on mend after horror crash

CHRIS FROOME is in “good spirits” after coming through surgery following his horrific training crash in France.
The four-time Tour de France champion, below, was airlifted to hospital in Toulon on Wednesday and has had “successful” surgery for a fractured vertebrae, collapsed lung and five broken ribs.
But in what was likely to be his last year of competitive racing, Froome’s season is now over and with it, probably his career.
