Vroeër vanjaar het Solidariteit Helpende Hand 'n nuwe program geloods, spesiaal vir jong meisies: Dié program spits hom toe op kreatiewe en eerlike gesprekke met kundiges.
Borsprostese wat gebrei word deur vrywilligers by Solidariteit Helpende Hand.
Die doel is om die meisies te versterk en bemagtig, hulle selfvertroue te versterk en hulle harte te bemoedig. Taai Meraai fokus daarop om jong meisies die noodsaaklike lewensvaardighede aan te leer, en hiervoor span hulle kundiges uit die gemeenskap in.
Carol Ankiewicz van streeksorganiseerder by Solidariteit Helpende Hand Limpopo sê die aanleer van vaardighede, sluit alles in: "Van hoe om 'n knoop aan te werk, kos te maak en basiese selfdoenvaardighede, tot hoe om 'n kragprop te vervang. Die doel is om selfbeeld, selfstandigheid en 'n gevoel van bemeestering by jong meisies te bou."
Carol sê dat daar vanjaar een student in die stad is wat Helpende Hand kon ondersteun met 'n rentevrye studielening.
