There's nothing wrong with same old routine

Nottingham Post

November 15, 2025

THE Nottingham Post recently published a story about Ben Woolley, a Nottinghamshire resident, 60 years deep into his family scrap metal business and still loving every day of it.

- Tim Yearsley

At first glance, Ben's work might seem quietly ordinary, but to me his life speaks of something extraordinary. I don't know Ben Woolley personally, but I'd love to meet him and tell him he's a living picture of what my organisation, LICC, wants to celebrate: a belief that every task, every role, and every job matter.

There are thousands of people in Nottingham who show up to their jobs day after day, for client after client, customer after customer, resident after resident. They send the same emails, make the same calls, reload the same dishwasher, and yet somehow remain faithful in their calling.
