City crime boss David Gunn relives troubled youth 'thieving from meters' to fund Forest season ticket
Nottingham Post
|November 04, 2025
ONE of Nottingham's most notorious crime bosses has revealed how he started thieving at just ten years old to "feed his family".
Speaking in a new podcast, David Gunn explained that when he was a child he would break into people's electric meter sheds to take change as a means of helping out at home.
He said he used his ill-gotten gains to pay for a Nottingham Forest season ticket for him and his now wife, Sandy.
David Gunn and crime lord brother Colin ran the notorious Bestwood Cartel Crime gang and were known throughout Nottingham for their criminal activities.
After spending 20 years of his life behind bars, David has since urged people to stay away from crime and avoid making the mistakes he did.
