Torvill & Dean to turn on family's final light show

TORVILL and Dean will switch on a Nuthall family’s popular Christmas lights.

The ice legends will officially start the charity display on Laurel Crescent, Nuthall, for what will be the final time.

The display, thought to be visited by about 30,000 people every year, has been running for 22 years, and has raised more than £250,000 for good causes.

The lights are organised by the Swift family in their own garden and, as well as thousands of coloured bulbs, includes a grotto and shop, where visitors can buy mince pies, mulled wine and Christmas gifts.

Santa will also be present at the display every Friday and Saturday from 6pm until 8pm until Christmas Eve, and children will receive a free goody bag when visiting him.
