Chilling voice note found by police as paedophile's home searched

A NOTTINGHAM criminal had a voice recording on one of his electronic devices in which he talked of raping a six-year-old child.

Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard how Jake Wales also described himself as "a paedophile" after officers seized and analysed his phone and computer during a raid on his home. It was discovered that he had amassed more than 2,000 child abuse images and over 350 videos, including hundreds of the most serious category.

Now he faces an anxious Christmas before finding out his fate in January.

Sending the case to the crown court, the chair of the bench said: "The offences are so serious, and there was such a quantity (of abuse images) that the punishment is greater than our powers at the magistrates' court."
