K'taka Cabinet decides to bring rules to check RSS activities in public places, govt institutions
Millennium Post Delhi
|October 17, 2025
The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday approved a set of rules to regulate activities in public spaces, government institutions, and aided establishments, following complaints about unauthorised use of such premises by private organisations.
The move comes amid concerns over activities conducted by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in schools, colleges, and public grounds across the state.
The decision follows a letter from Information Technology and Biotechnology Minister Priyank Kharge to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in which he urged a ban on RSS activities in government institutions and public places. In the letter dated October 4, Kharge alleged that the RSS has been conducting 'shakhas' in schools and public grounds, where “slogans are shouted and negative ideas are instilled in the minds of children and youth.”
