PRC Safe Card launched

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has launched Safe Card, a new emergency protection program designed to guarantee immediate assistance for families caught in life-threatening situations, particularly those unable to pay upfront for critical medical services.
PRC said cases of ambulance refusals, delays in emergency care, and families being denied blood units due to lack of immediate payment continue to occur nationwide, putting vulnerable Filipinos at greater risk.
These scenarios, the organization stressed, underscore a longstanding reality: Emergencies can strike without warning, and “every second matters.”
Under the newly launched Safe Card, holders are entitled to one free ambulance service, giving patients immediate access to medical assistance during emergencies without fear of being turned away due to financial constraints.
