Savage hails Macc record breakers

|April 30, 2025
MACCLESFIELD boss Robbie Savage praised his record-breaking Silkmen side after finishing the season with 109 points and 109 goals.
Savage's Blues closed the season last weekend with their 35th win a 4-0 thrashing against North Yorkshire side Whitby Town which saw them finish the 2024/25 campaign 26 points clear of their closest challengers.
And they were finally able to get their hands on the Northern Premier League trophy on Saturday, with captain Paul Dawson lifting the silverware in front of the biggest crowd of the season.
"All the volunteers, all the staff, all the backroom staff, without their willingness to give everything they can for this group and this team and without the investment into this football club none of this would've been possible," said Savage.
"It means so much to everybody involved with the football club that we've been relentless and ruthless and 12 straight wins in a row now which I know is another club record.
"The minute we lost our last game I said to the lads 'we don’t lose another game' and they haven't, so they've been absolutely terrific."
Despite this season's evident success for Macc, Savage showed how high his standards were by suggesting his side had the potential to be even better.
