PRESTBURY Lady Captain Caroline Harrison-Croft was delighted with the 72-hole challenge undertaken by Prestbury member Liz Thomas to raise funds for her chosen charity of East Cheshire Hospice.

"In November 2023 my mum came up from the south to stay with me as she was not feeling well.
"It transpired that she had cancer and she died a month later.
"She spent her final four weeks at my home but during the last 10 days we were magnificently supported by East Cheshire Hospice’s ‘Hospice at Home’ and I don’t think I could have managed without their help.
"They visited at least twice a day to help with her personal carethey do an amazing job.
"I was so excited when Liz said she wanted to take on the 72-Hole Challenge for the charity - and there is no record of any lady taking on the challenge at Prestbury before.
"I have been overwhelmed by the amount of money she has raisedI was expecting around £1,500-£2,000."
Liz added: "I wanted to support Caroline during her captaincy year and the 72-hole challenge is something I have been thinking about for a couple of years since my friend did it at Tytherington GC.
