Fundraiser will run marathon in one of the hottest deserts on earth

A MAN will be doing an admirable task of running a marathon but with a twist to help raise money for his colleague's son.

Jake Shepherd, from Trafford, will be running a marathon through the desert of Oman after the son of his colleague was in a motorcycle accident while abroad in India.

Gullu, Jake's colleague is currently still working in Oman after news broke that his son would require brain surgery after the unfortunate accident. Jake currently works in the Middle East and is in the oil and gas industry which requires him to go abroad and work in various places including Oman.
