Dad tunes into beloved Reds game while wife is in labour
A NEW mum said her husband watched football while she was in labour – because he was ‘bored’.
Manchester United fan Brendan McLaughlin, 30, started watching a game while his wife Sevenagh, 29, was 10 hours into her 30-hour labour.
On December 9 last year, the day before the couple welcomed their son, United lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth.
Sevenagh said the pair ‘had to pass the time some way’, with her also watching the match for some relief. She said as soon as she needed Brendan’s support, the phone went off and he was a ‘brilliant help’.
