Photographer's plan to fill time capsule with artefacts from city's past

BURIED TREASURES WILL SAVE HISTORY

Rob Gough

A UNIQUE "travelling time capsule" is set to be filled with Liverpool treasures from across the city.

Life in Liverpool has changed so much over the decades, from how we shop, dress and socialise to what the city itself looks like today.

While so much of our history can still be seen in and around the region, much of our past can only be celebrated or lived on through our memories, photographs and different objects tied to a moment in time. But that doesn't mean they should be forgotten.

In a time where most of our photos are stored digitally and many don't think to keep day-to-day items that are part of life in the present, photographer Rob Gough, 38, wants to ensure Merseyside's history is preserved for the future.

A touring series of local history photography exhibitions is set to showcase striking historical photographs and physical artefacts connected to communities across Merseyside in a unique new cultural project called The Travelling Time Capsule.
