Soul icons continue to delight music fans

THE crowd at Salt and Tar erupted in cheers as Liverpool legends The Real Thing performed at the venue this week.

The Bootle-based music festival returned this week for another four-day long weekend of entertainment that ends today.

The Real Thing performed at Salt and Tar as support for R&B icon Billy Ocean. As the band introduced their 1976 No.1 hit song You To Me Are Everything, singer Chris Amoo urged the Bootle crowd: “Get those hands in the air, and let's have a dance. Come on!” The crowd reacted with cheers as the song's famous intro played across the outdoor venue.
