FURY OVER NAZI SYMBOLS AND RACIST GRAFFITI DAUBED ON WALLS IN REGION

A MERSEYSIDE leader has said “we won't tolerate this filth” after shocking racist graffiti and swastikas appeared at locations across the region.

On Tuesday appalling racist messages were scrawled in areas including Bootle and Litherland.

One message stated: “Stop the boats”, with a Nazi swastika in place of the word “the”.

Other graffiti aimed racist slurs at Muslims and people from Pakistan, while other grim messages told immigrants to “go home”. There were also mentions of far-right group the English Defence League (EDL).

The ECHO has received numerous complaints from residents after racist messages and a large number of swastikas appeared under canal bridges and on walls in Merseyside communities.

These complaints were mirrored on local Facebook groups with many expressing their outrage about the incidents.
