Tribute paid to 'fun loving, strong' Jody following her death

A man has paid tribute to his girlfriend after she died in Liverpool.

Jody Lewis lived with cystic fibrosis throughout her life. The rare, incurable genetic condition causes breathing and digestive problems.

As the ECHO previously reported, Jody became seriously ill in 2020. She faced a double lung transplant after her lungs were left weak and damaged and she was treated with blood clots and narrowed veins. However, Jody was later given a new lease of life.

She became one of the 222 patients at Liverpool's Heart and Chest Hospital at Broadgreen to trial a new drug therapy called Kaftrio.

Jody explained: “At the time I had spent two years of my life in constant agony from the pressure build up in my head due to the narrowed veins.
