14-YEAR-OLD GIRL'S HORROR AS BOYFRIEND WAS KNIFED 11 TIMES

A 14-YEAR-OLD girl “didn’t realise” she had been stabbed as her boyfriend was knifed 11 times.

A 15-year-old boy was this week sentence to 13 years over the incident, which occurred at a bus stop on Whitefield Drive in Kirkby on the evening of April 30 this year.

The attack was said to have come in retaliation for an earlier confrontation that led to one of the defendant's friends suffering a head injury after being struck with a metal pole.

The boy was found guilty of attempted murder after a trial and returned to Liverpool Crown Court to be sentenced on Wednesday.

Arthur Gibson, prosecuting, read a statement to the court on behalf of the girl during Wednesday’s hearing, saying: “At first, I didn’t even realise I'd been stabbed. It wasn’t until I saw my own blood I realised what had happened. I'd just been so scared for [the other victim] and [another girl who was present at the scene, neither of whom can legally be named].

“I was so scared waiting for the ambulance, hoping both [her friends] would be ok. I actually thought I was going to die. I remember asking a nice lady who was helping me not to let that happen. I tried to be brave for my family.”
