Dennis delivers at death

KRISTIAN Dennis was the hero for Rovers last night with a 96th minute winner at Blundell Park.

The forward made sure the points came back to the Wirral with a close range effort, giving Grimsby no time to reply.

Charlie Whitaker gave the visitors a first half lead but they offered little by way of a goal threat after that as the hosts piled on the pressure.

That was until the match was in its very final knockings of course.

Connor Jennings was the first with an attempt on goal but his fourth minute header was over the bar.

Darragh Burns had the hosts’ first effort on ten minutes but his effort went wide of goal.

Jamie Walker was next to try his luck but his attempt was blocked by Joe Ironside.
