EMERGENCY SERVICES ATTACKED WITH FIREWORKS AS THEY FOUGHT BLAZE

POLICE have been granted extra powers to keep the public safe after trouble flared when a fire broke out at a block of flats on Bonfire Night.
Emergency services were attacked with fireworks as they tackled the blaze at Knowsley Heights on Primrose Drive, Stockbridge Village on Wednesday.
A shocking video on social media, seen by the ECHO, shows a firework being shot in the direction of a firefighter while he is next to a fire engine. The fire engine, parked outside the tower block, is also shot at from the other side of a metal fence where a small bonfire has been lit.
The firework misses the firefighter, but ricochets off the vehicle and back in the direction it was shot from.
