A HOMELESS man from Lincoln with a long history of offending against authority figures is likely to be back on the streets soon.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Alexander Hayward's latest "mayhem" included him headbutting a dock officer in a court building, punching an officer inside a police station and kicking out at another policeman after he tried to stop him arresting a woman, all in Lincoln.

The 32-year-old appeared over a video-link from a secure unit at this week's sentencing hearing even telling the judge who jailed him: “The staff here can transfer me to prison today, there is a bus waiting.”

But as he has served the equivalent of his sentence already on remand, he is likely to be released either immediately or in the very near future.
