WDC vows to introduce 20mph zones

West Dunbartonshire councillors have reaffirmed their commitment to introducing 20mph zones around schools to help stop serious accidents.

The local authority has already vowed to implement the 20mph zones in line with the Scottish Government's guidance to make the streets safer and introduce the new speed limits across the country by the end of the year.

So far 26 individual 20mph zones have been created across the local authority using the 'Red, Amber, Green' assessment tool while the Roads and Transportation service looks to identify the impact of these new limits on the road network.
