Family of baby who defied odds can't wait to spend the festive period together

For families all across Dumbarton and the Vale, this week is the most special as the presents are finally opened and the chance to enjoy some quality time is taken.

But for one local family, this Christmas will be arguably more incredible than ever after beating all of the odds to welcome their 'miracle baby' to the world.

Bernadette Herrity. from Clydebank, and partner John Kelly, from Renton, will celebrate the big day cuddling six-month-old Nicolas, just days after the tot finally came off oxygen support following the most traumatic of births.
