Residents urged to contact supplier before June 30
West Dunbartonshire residents are being urged to ensure they stay on supply by upgrading their electricity meters ahead of the RTS switch-off next month.
The Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) will turn off for good on June 30, leaving some electricity meters without signal.
The system uses radio signals to control when some meters switch between peak and off-peak rates and is commonly used in homes with electric storage or panel heaters.
Properties with 'wet' electric and immersion heaters could also be affected.
Households likely to be affected will be contacted by their energy supplier and are urged to book installation of a new meter as soon as their energy supplier makes contact.
