Owners to 'Plough' £500k into revamp of pub and mural!

DINERS are being promised a 'full refurbishment' at a popular pub with £500,000 being pumped into the historic venue.

The Plough in Endon, a Toby Carvery, pictured, is set to shut for five weeks to allow the project to be carried out.

Bosses say the scheme will focus on both the outside and inside of the listed building. In addition the iconic mural outside the Leek Road venue is also set to be restored.

Now Mitchells and Butler, which owns the Toby Carvery brand, says a 'full refurbishment' will be carried out that will improve the outside appearance while also 'preserving the heritage of this historically significant venue.

Last month plans were submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council seeking permission to restore the mural - thought to be the biggest pub sign in the country.
