Hard work begins for Brehaut and squad ahead of campaign

LEEK Town are back in training and preparing for what promises to be an exciting Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign.

Josh Brehaut recalled his squad to Harrison Park on Saturday for the first of 11 sessions plus six pre-season friendlies and was pleased to see they have come back looking fit and ready.

“The lads have come back in good shape which is really pleasing,” said Brehaut.

“They have obviously looked after themselves over the summer and it was a typical first pre-season day.

“The sun was beating down and we used the main pitch on the 3G and it was very hot.

“The conditions were difficult but the lads were excellent.

“It was good to see everybody again after nine weeks and we've now got a full week of training this week.”

There’s plenty of ball work in the modern game even at such an early stage.

Brehaut confirmed: “Even in the professional environment when they get five contact days a week, or six in some cases, we don’t get that.
