What an adventure! James, aged just nine, part of new record as world travels go on

A nine-year-old Lancashire boy is moving ever closer to visiting 100 countries in his quest to become the youngest person to visit all the United Nations - and has just broken another travel record.

Some nine months after becoming the youngest British visitor to Antarctica - as we reported last November - James Meconi, from Preston, was part of a new travel achievement as he made his debut visit to the other end of the world.
The youngster was on board as Arctic travel specialist Hurtigruten Expediton's craft Svalbard Artic HX the company surpassed their own internal record for Arctic passenger travel, reaching the furthest north one of their vessels had ever gone.
James has now visited 92 countries, completed polar plunges in both the Arctic and Antarctic, camped on the Antarctic continent, and is on a mission to visit all 193 United Nations.
