School's farewell to a much loved lollipop man

A former lollipop man who gave more than two decades' service was remembered as "a true friend" to all those at the school.

Arthur Parker helped children crossing on their way to Leyland Methodist Junior School for 22 years until retiring last summer.

As previously reported, Arthur has died and paying tribute, Friends of Leyland Methodist Schools described him as "part of our school family".

They said: "For so many years, Arthur was a cheerful, familiar face at the school gatescome rain or shine he greeted every child with a smile, a wave or one of his legendary high fives.
