Pals turn Tower pink in touching tribute to city hospital midwife

Friends and family have arranged a glowing tribute to a much-loved midwife who died aged just 37.

Mum-of-three Amie Barnes died in her sleep on July 26.

Her unexpected death came as a terrible shock to friends and loved ones, who say her passing has left a huge void in their lives.

Amie lived in Cleveleys, and worked as a midwife at Royal Preston Hospital. Now her pals have decided to pay tribute to her by having Blackpool's famous Tower lit up in pink, her favourite colour. The iconic landmark will be lit up for Amie on Tuesday evening, on what would have been Amie's 38th birthday.
