Piping in new pals
Kilmarnock Standard
|June 17, 2026
If you give your bagpipes a blast in the street at 6.30am it’s unlikely that you'll make many friends.
But the same can’t be said for a group of Kilmarnock lads who moved into a Boston Airbnb and did just that - going viral in the process.
The Killie fans were settling into their new digs in a quiet neighbourhood just outside the city in preparation for Scotland’s first World Cup game in 28 years.
Lewis Porter decided to blow the cobwebs off after a long journey from Scotland by cracking out his bagpipes for breakfast at 6.30am.
Neighbour Mike Morrison decided to film the impromptu jam session and post the video on X - which has now been viewed around the world almost 10 million times.
Since then the neighbours have embraced a blossoming friendship - sharing meals together and the odd dram.
Lewis revealed to the BBC that he almost didn’t bring his bagpipes and it was his brother Fergus, also staying with him in Boston along with their friends, who convinced him to bring the instrument.
