Broadstairs' The Royston up for national pub of the year award
Isle of Thanet Gazette
|August 29, 2025
A KENT pub has been hailed as the best in the South East and is now hoping to be named the top place for a pint in all of the UK.
-
The Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) prestigious Pub of the Year competition is well underway, and 2025's regional and national finalists have been revealed.
Claiming the prestigious title as best pub for the entire South East region is Kent's very own The Royston in Broadstairs.
Having beaten out some tough competition to get to this stage, the seaside establishment will now go head-to-head against the 15 other regional winners to determine the final four boozers in the running to be crowned the UK's best purveyor of pints.
These final four are to be announced in October before the overall winner is announced in January 2026. The Royston is a cosy, family-run micropub found in The Broadway in the Thanet town.
