TDs' anger at rent pressure zone reform

OPPOSITION parties have slammed the Government’s plans to reform the rent pressure zone rules as “utter madness”.

The Coalition is set to lift the ban on landlords raising rents by more than 2% between tenancies and for new-build apartments.

The move will be accompanied by extra protections for renters including six-year guarantee of tenure in the hope it will increase supply.
