MEATH defender Sean Rafferty says he’s relieved that the Royals nabbed Robbie Brennan at the right time with Dublin now on the lookout for a manager.

Brennan (inset) inspired Meath’s best season in years as they went all the way to the All-Ireland semifinal.

But he would surely be high on Dublin's shopping list if he wasn’t attached right now given his record on the club scene in the capital, the high point being Kilmacud Crokes’ All-Ireland success in 2023.

Rafferty said: “He is a top manager and his CV with Crokes spoke for itself.

“It probably was the right time, both for him and for ourselves.
