Addicks boss relishes chance to finish job at home
NATHAN Jones is expecting much more from his Charlton team when they look to book their place at Wembley back at The Valley on Thursday.
Twenty days earlier the Addicks had won 4-0 at Adams Park - but the play-offs are rarely ever like that.
This semi-final first leg last night was a tight and cagey affair as Charlton struggled to break down a stubborn defence.
Wycombe looked alert, dangerous and a completely different side from the one on the end of that thumping.
Addicks boss Jones (inset) said: "It was a tough game, a war of attrition.
"We defended our box excellently and I felt we finished the game really strongly.
"It's evenly poised and it's not a bad place to be.
"We've got to win a home game to get to Wembley and I think we'd have taken that. I'm really proud of the performance because we showed a resilience.
"Would I have liked us to play a bit more and create a bit more and show a bit more quality? Yes."
